Aquatic Water Garden - All That You Should Know About Them!
Aquatic based water gardening is concerned with the growing and preservation of various kind of plants. What causes the leaves of my water lily to turn black? There are no leaves anymore on one plant!?
I don't understand why they are black. They are in a pond-in-a-pot, I fertilize them every two weeks with tablets, but they are getting black foliage, which then rots. They get black foliage even before emerging from water.
What am I supposed to do in order to save my water lilies?
Is the lily pot at least 6" below the surface of the water?
Stop fertilizing. Never fertilize any plant under stress. Sounds like you have some disease going. Lower the pots to the bottom of the pond and leave them alone. I suspect the new leaves will be OK. If not, let me know and we will keep troubleshooting.
